Floyd Carnell Greer 76 of Ore City, Texas was born July 7, 1935 to the home of Roy C. Greer and Gladys McFarland Greer and passed away April 1, 2012 in Athens. He lived in California and was a truck driver for Apex Commodities.  Floyd and Laverne were married August 12, 1966. After he retired he moved his wife to Ore City, Texas where they raised 12 children, and had the joy of having 34 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and lived out the rest of their lives.  They both were members of their local church, AARP, and many committees. Floyd loved to fish and prove that he was one of the best. He also enjoyed music and was an accomplished musician and played every day.  Left to cherish his memory are his children Don Maize, Dave Maize, Wes Greer and his wife Melody, Dennis Neal and Brandi Parish, Rick Greer and his wife Misty, Chris Greer and his wife Sabrina, Debbie Sweeney and her husband Pat, Deborah Greer, Diana Greer, Thursia Greer, Rebecca Holder and her husband Don, sister Barbara Moore, brother Roy Greer 34 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, numerous other family members and many friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Moorhead Epps Funeral Home Chapel in Gun Barrel City.
